Platform 4: UK is a strategic programme designed to support the international promotion and export of UK outdoor artists. Supported by Arts Council England, it builds on XTRAX’s existing showcase work and further help artists to make new international contacts.

The objectives of the project are to:
• Support the international promotion and export of UK outdoor artists
• Open up new market opportunities outside of Great Britain
• Introduce artists to new touring networks
• Deliver a programme of training and development support for artists and equip artists with the skills to thrive in these new territories

To deliver this project, we will work with existing showcase partners, the Greenwich+Docklands International Festival in London and Out There Festival in Great Yarmouth; we have also been developing relationships with several street arts festivals in Europe and further afield, to develop targeted initiatives aimed to support the promotion and export of UK Street Arts in 2016 and 2017.

The investment from Platform 4: UK into our existing UK will allow us to:

  • Enhance both festival programmes by enabling more UK companies to perform
  • Inviting targeted delegations to attend the festivals, focusing particularly on Germany, Belgium, Spain, Netherlands, Poland and Korea, which is much more cost-effective than taking a large amount of work internationally
  • Extend the range of activity offered to international delegates and provide opportunities for UK artists make new connections
  • Inform our international colleagues about the UK outdoor arts sector
