By Rail

There is a train station in Kendal which is on the branch line between Oxenholme and Windermere. Oxenholme is on the main line and has far more trains than Kendal. It is about 2 miles from Kendal town centre so either a change to local train or short taxi ride. Trains run direct to Oxenholme from London which takes 2.5 hours however most other stations do have one or two changes. For more information visit the National Rail website.

By Air

Manchester, Leeds/Bradford, Liverpool and Newcastle airports offer easy access to the area. Manchester Airport has its own rail station with direct services to Oxenholme and Kendal. Please note that there are more indirect trains to Kendal with one change to Preston. Before booking your flight please check train times running to the airport. The sunday train service from Kendal is less frequent, the first train to Manchester Airport starts at 11.15am.
