Chair: Margaret Stephenson
Margaret is Chair of XTRAX and was formerly a Trustee at Manchester Art Gallery, Board Member at Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair, and Head of Events Unit at Manchester City Council.
Board Member: Jane Armstrong
Jane has worked in and across the arts and community arts settings for over 25 years, including 14 years at Lowry. As a member of the education team she produced award winning youth work, community projects and also managed partnerships nationally.
Board Member: Fiona Gasper
Fiona was previously Executive Director at Manchester International Festival and Factory International, Executive Director at The Royal Exchange Theatre, and Executive Producer at Liverpool 2008 European Capital of Culture. Fiona now works as a coach and therapist.
Board Member: Darren Grice
Darren is an experienced leader in the cultural and community sectors, specialising in strategic development and organisational growth. Currently Director of Culture at Salford City Council (since 2023), Darren was previously Strategic Development Lead for Culture and the Visitor Economy at Rochdale Borough Council, and Deputy CEO at Your Trust Rochdale.
Board Member: Liz Pugh
Liz is Co-Founder and Creative Producer of Walk the Plank in Manchester, leading teams delivering festivals, parades, and site-specific performances that unite communities. With decades of experience in outdoor arts, she supports sector growth internationally. Liz is one of 12 advisers to IETM, Europe’s contemporary performing arts network, and serves on the City of Salford’s Culture and Place Partnership board, championing cultural strategy and creative placemaking locally and globally.
