Born in rural Cheshire, Matt is a keen storyteller, something he has never shied away from – at the age of 14, he was handpicked by the late Sir Terry Pratchett (his favourite author) as the winner of a creative writing competition.
Matt has an academic background in film, visual media, cultural studies and events management – specialising in Experiential Marketing. After dabbling in freelance writing he moved into arts PR. Matt worked in Liverpool with a number of well-established cultural events, festivals as well as most of the city’s theatres, developing their marketing and press campaigns and expanding his network within the city’s arts and culture sector.
Matt works across all of XTRAX’s projects including Without Walls, Without Walls Associate Touring Network, Wired Aerial Theatre and national and international showcases. Matt plans, coordinates, and manages XTRAX’s marketing and communication strategies and the creation of all of our media and content including film, print, E-marketing materials and online development efforts. Matt also plays a key role in our fundraising and advocacy campaigns – making sure people know about the brilliant work being done in the outdoor arts sector.
