A Few Feet Up presents the theory that a slight physical change of perspective can encourage a conceptual one. The audience sees that just above our heads is an entirely different and unexplored realm which is always present but usually just out of reach. The work playfully offers participants the opportunity to re-see a familiar place anew.
The performance is centred around a tall working periscope that is held up by two performers. An audience member will be invited to look through this large, otherworldly contraption and see a whole other view of the festival. In order to gain this new perspective, the participants must become collaborators; part of the work themselves, directing the performer’s movements to align the sights.
