‘Ancient Futures’ is a headline festival event, an installation/pop up experience with an extravagant high energy performance that fuses dance, circus and music with integrated participatory elements. It is a three hour installation with a 45 min performance climax.
Its rich thematic world is inspired by Afrofuturism, a cultural movement that encourages a future society that empowers Black (and all marginalised) people.
An Afrobeat/Grime led score incorporating new tracks created by recording artist – Afrikan Boy, will lyrically reveal and reflect on what we have to let go of in order to build a better future, using the ‘Afrinaut’ ideology and culture as a mirror to reflect on where we are in the UK in 2023.
