“Books!” utilises Tit for Tat’s usual penchant for fiasco and mayhem to not only share our love for stories, but to also highlight current extremes in modern society.
Our four bedraggled book enthusiasts are travelling from town to town – forced between the margins – on a mission to protect literature. The libraries keep closing, and their beloved books are being forced out into the streets. Where the rain is heavy, and the sun is getting hotter.
Revelling in stupidity and spectacle, the show uses juggling, acrobatics, creative sound and physical theatre to question topics such as homelessness, politics and climate change
“Books!” comes with an optional small scale performance “Little Books!” – an intimate & accessible show aimed towards younger audiences, particularly in schools and libraries. This immersive experience will facilitate learning through live performance.
“Books!” is supported by Arts Council England, Xtrax, Outdoor Arts Uk, Family Arts Standards, The Library Presents, Kunsten op Straat, Wet Picnic, Pangottic, Thimble Theatre and Circomedia.
