Enchanted Seasons is a small scale improvised physical theatre piece that explores how the beauty of the natural world can bring a sense of peace and belonging when people take the time to stop and appreciate it. Played by four female performer (two musician and two circus/dance/physical theatre practitioners) with an age range of 20 – 50 +, it also explores the theme of the seasons of our lives and how our interconnection gives us the grace & strength to endure in the face of inevitable change.
The piece has grown out of collaboration with theatrical set & costume designer Andie Scott MBA and with the support from Labtime and The National Centre of Circus Arts. The costuming is an integral part of the performance, it disperses with the need for a stage set and allows the piece to respond to it’s own rhythm of movement.
The presentation format of the show is fluid and can be adapted to meet the requirements or vision of the individual event, either as a static show or a piece of strolling theatre, the show responds to different impulses that come from both the performers & the audience.
Spring passes and one remembers one’s innocence
Summer passes and one remembers one’s exuberance
Autumn passes and one remembers one’s reverence
Winter passes and one remembers one’s perseverance.
