Following the international success of Knot, award winning company Nikki & JD are now creating their first outdoor show, Fireside that will premiere in summer 2023.
In Fireside, Nikki & JD and a team of performers will invite the audience to share an intimate moment with them around a campfire. Combining their talents for circus, movement and theatre, Nikki & JD will intertwine their personal stories with old legends to create a modern tale of universal resonance.
Over the next few months, Nikki & JD will research topics and legends that are relevant to them and resonate with the public. They are inspired by the myth of Prometheus, the Mayan sacred text Popol Vuh, Occitanic and American folk stories and their own childhood memories of camping trips, sitting around a fire.
Fireside will be a mid-scale circus, dance, and theatre outdoor experience unlike any other: artists invite audiences to sit around a campfire to share a unique moment in time.
