Funny Peculiar is an alternative guided tour, which investigates and celebrates eccentrics and the notion of eccentricity. The show was originally made for Brighton in 2014 and was developed and produced by Time Wont Wait for touring across the UK in 2015, sharing stories of and with some extraordinary characters from Bath, Coventry, Stoke, Margate and Harlow.
The research of neuropsychologist Dr. David Weeks suggests that people who live their lives without worrying what others think are more likely to be healthier and live longer than the rest of us. Social commentators have suggested that eccentrics are evidence for well functioning societies, which can accept and respond to new and challenging ideas. So, not only can we learn from people who defy convention – they are good for us!
We celebrate such people in bespoke guided tours with live performance and audio elements with great opportunities for community engagement and participation.
“Somehow, when Lesley and Leslie are around, having harmless fun in public seems perfectly OK. Psychologically, this show is a masterpiece and creatively, it’s full of joy” – Brighton Fringe Guru
“It’s a truly must see performance that will leave you feeling elated and wanting to do the whole things again… You’d be mad to miss it” Theatre Bath ★★★★★
