In many cities, villages and squares they can be found. Large monumental statues that remind us of memorable moments in history; a revolt, a soldier or a famous scientist or artist.
La Figure de l’Érosion pays tribute to these statues and allows you to take another look at our cultural heritage.
Historical monuments may look solid, but they are also exposed to driving rain, strong wind and blazing sun.
Their vulnerability is slowly becoming visible and in Nathalie Pernette’s imagination, stone falls apart, iron can gradually melt, and elements come off the statue.
Through minimalist, almost imperceptible movements, the dancers move from one pose to another, and give the statues a soul. While sound fragments remind us of the great moments in our history, the dancers slowly move towards a single final: the disappearance.
