The public entertainers of Transe Express company have decided to invade the airs to get adapted to nowadays great cities. Inventors of celestial art, their human mobiles suspended 130 feet high from the ground allow them to be seen and heard by everyone. And at such height what could have a better impact than bells ? This is how Maudits Sonnants and its celestial carillon were born. No need to have a cathedral. Anything one needs is to lift up in the air an orchestra of bells players that can be heard by thousands of people, without any sound system, with both a great musical impact and a powerful image.
The celestial carillon is a lotus flower like metallic structure of 17 meters diameter. Manipulated by a telescopic crane, the shape of this musical chandelier changes along the show, bringing in its movements 8 musicians suspended at the ends of the petals and 3 trapezists hanging on the heart of the flower. It is composed of 26 bells. The choice of the bells and scores have been made by Didier Capeille, a renowned French composer.
Since its creation in 1996, Maudits Sonnants has already resonated throughout France, the U.K., Germany, the Netherlands, Marocco, Italy, Singapour, Australia, Norway, Roumania
