Jack should be at home with his well meaning but over-bearing mum. But instead he’s made a break for freedom with all of his belongings in tow (including Timmy, his gold fish). He’s here to discover the not so dangerous world for the first time. He’s here to share the cautionary tales his mother has been filling his head with for as long as he can remember.
Mother says is a modern day reinterpretation of the cautionary tales of yesterday, a playful and ridiculous look at the so-called dangers that surround us in everyday life nowadays.
The story is told through the eyes of Jack, our overgrown man boy who still lives at home with his mum. The show moves between walkabout and static happenings, set pieces using original writing and improvised sections. All of which contain lots of audience interaction.
The action is supported by live and looped music played by Jack on a plethora of instruments including toy piano, trombone, melodica and various bits of percussion.
