Mutant Insect Hunt – What happens when evolution meets pollution?

Category: Show

The audience is encouraged to find and classify these new mutant insects that have been spotted in the local area. Small booklets with sketches of the insects will be available to take while exploring the installation to look for the insects and, once spotted, to write down time, location, colour and genus of their sightings, and also to speculate on the insects’ behaviour and evolution.

The trail is meant to be in an outdoor environment, ideally a small woodland area or large garden sufficient to “hide” them. They won’t be secured into the ground, so they cannot be left overnight in public areas without security. We have about 100 insects, all brightly coloured and completely made from recycled and repurposed materials.
