Pentesilea

Category: Show Related artist: Teatro dei Venti

In the background of the Trojan war: Achilles, the most valuable of the Greek heroes, a figure of taurina virility, warlike, strong neck, shoulders and arms glittered from the metal, and Pentesilea, the queen of Amazons, the one who loves peace but manages the agony, partially fury and partially grace. A man and a woman, challenge each other to a duel and fall in love. Pentesilea, unique act for two stilters, is the story of a battle of warriors who wanted the death of the other one because of much love. The scenic game runs through a continuous counterpoint of dynamic actions and rhythmic sounds. The big medieval drums, played live by two stilters, articulate time and gallop, assaults and escapes, abandonments and fury that follows until leaving the place at the deafening final silence.
