A shed load of ideas to show the passing world
Earnest companions, overalls. invention, a pet cat,
a cup of tea, everyday objects, ramshackle engineering, precise timing, deadpan comedy and a leap of faith
In this chain reaction of a show.
WORKS is Haywood Hixs first show.
A Heath Robinson/Rube Goldberg-esque contraption, assembled by two workmen, using items taken out of a garden shed.
With a roof opening, catapult finale.
The performers are silent, with a soundtrack of music throughout.
Directed by Matt Rudkin ( of Inconvenient Spoof and formerly The Incredible Bull Circus)
The show was originally created with the support of Escalator Outdoor Arts, The Arts Council and Sea Change Arts.
It premiered at The Out There Festival, Great Yarmouth in September 2013 and 2014 sees its first UK tour.
