Draw & Code

Draw & Code’s animations and films have graced interactive immersive theatre productions across the world for over a decade. Innovative and large-scale productions are a specialty, our experience includes traditional indoor theatre and unusual outdoor performances, alongside projection mapping for buildings.

Our passion lies in story telling; we want to compliment a performance and bring something unique to the narrative using visual art and technology. The Draw & Code style ranges from gritty hand-drawn animation to sleek 3D imagery and live-action shooting.

Highlights of our live performance work includes collaborating with world renowned theatre director Nigel Jamieson and the incomparable Wired Aerial Theatre Company on their breathtaking crane-mounted production ‘As The World Tipped’. Other credits include further work with Nigel on Liverpool’s Capital of Culture Grand Opening Ceremony and the international interactive theatre production ‘Minutes of a Separation’ starring Cate Blanchett and Joseph Fiennes.

Draw & Code have also contributed to Metro-Boulot-Dodo’s large scale outdoor production ‘The Gunpowder Plot’. Our animations graced the fairy tale ‘The Wonderful Adventures of Nils’ that premiered in China; while closer to home we have used projection mapping on the decaying Futurist Cinema in Liverpool, worked with Hope St Ltd on an installation for the prestigious Bluecoat Gallery, while developing our own multimedia show ‘The Lava Bud’.
