As part of our Platform: 4: UK project, Maggie, Chris, and Irene are heading off to South Korea and will be representing the UK outdoor arts sector at the Seoul Street Arts Festival (SSAF) who have programmed three outdoor arts shows as part of the festival.
Over 100 delegates are expected to attend SAAF and will be treated to world-class shows:
- Smashed by Gandini Juggling
- Ear Trumpet by Gobbledegook Theatre
- Lance Moi En L’air by Joli Vyann and L’Eolienne
Furthermore, Maggie, Chris and Irene have been invited to share information about the UK and European outdoor arts sector as part of the festivals’ professional events programme. The outcome of this is that presenters of outdoor work and festival promoters will be better informed about the goings-on in our part of the world and will hopefully develop an interest in programming work from the UK in the future.
This collaboration with one of the county’s most esteemed outdoor arts festivals has been made possible through the support of a number of partners based in South Korea along with support by Arts Council England. The focus on the UK and European outdoor arts sector is the outcome of a long-standing conversation between XTRAX and our friends in Korea.
The Seoul Street Arts Festival runs from the 5th to the 8th October, with the professional’s programme running until the 1oth.
