XTRAX is proud to have secured Manchester as Guest City for La Mercè, Barcelona’s biggest festival, in September 2025.
La Mercè is the annual festival of the city of Barcelona in Catalonia, Spain. The festival welcomes a huge programme of events from street arts, parades, concerts, traditional celebrations and more. Every year, La Mercè invites a city to share its culture with Barcelona, and in 2025, the guest city will be Manchester.
We will be supporting a programme of diverse and ambitious outdoor work from Manchester to be presented in Barcelona, as well as a programme of music and participation work.
We are working closely with our colleagues at Without Walls on this programme, and are delighted to have secured support from Arts Council England as well as Manchester City Council.
