We’re hiring! Part-time Communications and Creative Media Assistant

XTRAX is seeking a part-time Communications and Creative Media Assistant to support our marketing team with the promotion and advocacy of our key projects and take our digital channels to the next level. 

Salary: £17,000 – £18,000 (pro-rata) depending on experience
Hours of work: Part-time (2-3 days a week)
Responsible to: Communications & Development Manager
Duration of Post: Short term contract until 31 March 2021.
Location: Manchester

Please note: Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, we are currently mixing home working and working from our office in Manchester. There is expected that the successful applicant will be required to do the same.

This is a new role and a fantastic opportunity for someone with excellent creative and design skills and a strong interest in social media who is keen to build experience in the field of festivals, events and artists development. The post holder will need to have a flair for creating dynamic copy and strong administrative and organisational skills to support our hardworking team.

A major focus of the post will be the creation of creative communications, both in print and online, to support the promotion and advocacy of XTRAX, its associated projects and the work of Without Walls.

The post holder will have strong graphic design skills and be able to produce high- quality artwork such graphs and infographics and support the preparation of layouts for text and image as well as some art-working. Outputs include reports, brochures, posters, postcards, banners, social media cards and workshop and event material such as handouts and booklets.

The post holder will handle the day-to-day implementation of our social media channels, play a key part in the design of our E-newsletters, and help update our websites. XTRAX are looking for someone who has a real enthusiasm for social media, a flair for content creation and the ability to generate creative ideas.

In addition to working with the Communications team, the post-holder will provide administrative assistance across the whole organisation to support the management and delivery of our portfolio of work, with direction from our project managers and Operation teams. The work will require a high level of organisation, good attention to detail, strong and confident communication skills (verbal and written) and a willingness to work with the entire XTRAX team.

The successful candidate will support creative communications across some of XTRAX’s key projects, including: 

  • Platform 4:UK – a strategic project designed to support the international promotion and export of UK outdoor artists. This includes Outdoor Arts showcases in the UK and internationally, and associated training and development projects, Artist Spotlight and Global Conversations. 
  • Management of Without Walls Consortium 
  • Tour Management of large scale show As The World Tipped by Wired Aerial Theatre;
  • Other consultancy, events and contracted projects.
