XTRAX launches Artist Spotlight

Our work at XTRAX is about showcasing the UK outdoor arts sector to the world and help artists build important relationships with festival programmers at home and overseas.

It is no surprise that the global pandemic has had a tremendous effect on the Outdoor Arts sector and our ability to stay connected during these unprecedented times.

Usually our team are buzzing around the globe, networking with festival programmers and promoters. We host showcases, attend international marketplaces, and put on events to encourage knowledge exchange and broker relationships for artists to make those contacts vital to their work.

Building on the success of our XTRAX Directory, Artist Spotlight is born out of a desire to maintain our networks with international festivals despite the circumstances, for the benefit of artists at home and abroad.

Each month our team are connecting with festival promoters and programmers to share their selection of UK and International outdoor artists they have been working with recently and give some insight into their programming choices.

This month we caught up with the team at Birmingham International Dance Festival who gave us some insight into what was planned for their 2020 programme and their pick of artists to keep your eye on over the next year.
