“Do you wanna come outside and play?” Seminar for Artists looking to work outdoors and tour in the UK and internationally

In November 2018, XTRAX, Freedom Festival and Hull Truck joined forces to run a Seminar aimed at UK artist or creative practitioners, of any art form, interested in creating work to be presented in public space at festivals, as well as to more established artist wishing to deepen their knowledge of the sector

XTRAX, Freedom Festival Arts Trust and Hull Truck Theatre invited artists to come and learn more about the Outdoor Arts industry, how it works, current conventions and themes, tips and advice on how to promote and tour outdoor work.

This seminar covered the following areas:

  • Practical matters and conventions in the outdoor sector
  • Top tips for making your shows sustainable for long-term touring
  • Promoting your work
  • National and International touring
  • Where to find more information

The seminar was chaired by Mikey Martins (Artistic Director and joint CEO at Freedom Festival Arts Trust)
