The Festival of Fools runs for four days over the May Day Bank Holiday weekend bringing quality street theatre from around the world to Belfast’s City Centre. Around 30 companies are invited to perform shows, or walkabout. Artists are paid fees, but are asked to hat the shows to raise funds towards the following year’s festival.
According to artists who have played the Festival of Fools it is a lot of fun for them, with good and responsive audiences.
As Director of the Festival, I am responsible for booking all the artists and generally running around like a headless chicken during the festival.
