A Graceful Act of Stupidity

Category: Show Related artist: Candoco Dance Company

Building on our repertoire of duets, Candoco collaborates with New Art Club’s Tom Roden. Tom Roden draws on his experience across art-form as theatre-maker, comedian, choreographer and dancer in his beautiful new duet for Candoco. This is a piece that promises to make us laugh a lot and maybe even shed a tear too. In his guise as comedian, Tom is particularly keen to play with archetypes – he enjoys usurping people’s expectations and encouraging audiences to question the way they perceive the world.

Danced with charm and cheek, the two performers interweave delicious full-bodied dancing with spoken word, gestural detail and British Sign Language.

This masterful choreography is a microcosm of joy and pathos.

A Graceful Act of Stupidity is your entire life in a moment. It’s time to check-in.
