World-class swing dance, breathtaking circus skills and all the joy and flair of the 1930s combine to tell the tale of Swing, its roots in the African-American arts scene, its introduction to the UK and what we can learn from it today. Swing Circus is all about celebrating diversity, by means of swing dance and circus.
Travel to the colourful world of the Harlem Renaissance with the groundbreaking new show, In Colour from Swing Circus.
This show is family friendly, beautiful and energetic, yet still talks about the tremendously important issue of race relations, which gained worldwide attention in 2020 after the sad death of George Floyd.
With a cast of five diverse performers, In Colour offers unique and skillful entertainment, while talking about the important and current issue of racism in the past and today.
Directed by Deborah Baddoo and Steve Marshall (a.k.a. State of Emergency), and choreographed by BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing choreographer Lana Williams, Swing Circus invites you to step, step, triple-step your way through history and into a world where swing dance meets circus.
The show can be booked for dates from late August 2021 onwards.
