Kitsch & Sync are a curiously quirky dance theatre and performance collective. Fusing different dance genres, characters and prop work and comedy with a vintage or retro twist. We specialise in creating dance and theatre pieces and acts for outdoor sites, festivals, events and venues. Audiences can expect quirky choreography, surreal characters, toe tapping tunes and a dressing-up box bursting with enough vintage clobber to make your gran proud!
Kitsch & Sync Collective is fast building a reputation for itself as one of Wales’ most exciting, original and eclectic companies. Immediately recognisable by their innovative brand of cabaret-inspired dance theatre, the company was set up in 2011 by Wales-based performance artists Kylie Ann Smith, Rosalind Brooks and Kim Noble, and has become a popular feature at many a festival ever since.
If you recognise Kitsch & Sync it may be because you have seen the trio’s iconic Lampshade Ladies make a surprise appearance on BBC Two’s Have I Got News for You, or perhaps you have seen their picture on the front of The Sunday Times or as the editor’s choice photograph in The Guardian. You may have seen one of their performances at the award-winning Festival Number 6, Greenman, or Kendall Calling and you may have danced your socks off at one of the group’s popular electro-swing hop dance classes! This may even be your first venture into the curiously quirky world of Kitsch & Sync. Either way, you’re in for a treat… But don’t take our word for it- here’s what we have been told;
“Hugely silly and entertaining” The Scotsman
‘Tight as hell choreography’ John McGrath (National Theatre Wales)
“Packed with bags of energy and delightful fun” Broadway Baby
