Markmark are a theatre company based in the UK who specialise in creating unusual comic shows. They are theatre co in residence at The Civic Barnsley. A space with a great reputation in producing dance, physical theatre and new work.
Formed out of Ecole Jacques Lecoq and influenced by Philippe Gaulier, the company has developed its own style by fusing various comic elements including Commedia, Farce, Circus, Bouffon and lots of improvisation. This has ensured that all of their shows engage with a broad appeal across a wide age range.
In recent years they have developed new work in association with various national and international festivals including the Royal National Theatre’s ‘Watch This Space’; the Out There Festival for SeaChange Arts; ‘The Robin Hood Festival Sherwood Forest’ and many others.
