Oriol Escusell Domènech takes his first steps in the circus world with the group Escarabellos at the age of 17, creating a trapeze duo with Daniel Guerrero and touring around Cataluña. He graduates in physiotherapy in 2008 and then specializes in physiotherapy for performing arts at the CPAE. It’s only in 2009 that he decides to dedicate himself fully to circus, and he moves to Buenos Aires for a year of studies in trapeze and dance at the IUNA, at the Circo Criollo and at the Circo del Aire. Once back in Barcelona he studies at the Anna Maleras dance school. In 2010 he enters the Contemporary Circus School Flic in Torino and graduates in static trapeze in 2012. Back in Barcelona he takes part in Nusos de Dansa i Circ (Ateneu de 9 Barris), collaborates with G.Bistaki for the Aurillac Festival and works on the research and creation project How to Fall with the trapeze performer Cohdi Harrel. They will then take this project to New Mexico. In 2013 he is a cofounder of the Suitcase Circus company (www.suitcircus.com) dedicated to circus courses and workshops. At the same time he also continues his dance training at PARTS, Deltebre dansa, Dansecentrumjette, Charleroi danse, Garage29 (Brussels), Nun Art and La Caldera. This year as a dancer he takes part in the video dance performance 1714, directed by Cligbcn ; El Banquet, directed by Laura Vilar and Miquel Barcelona; the video clip Not there by Nacho Melús, as an actor in the show No feu bromes en l’amor at the National theatre TNC, and in The show must go on of Jerome Bel at Mercat de les Flors, also he presented his last show, Nullpunkt. at Fira Trapezi Reus 2015.
