WILDFIRE! is a brand new combined arts outdoor spectacular, inspired by the myth and magic of Celtic folklore. One dark, mysterious night, our hero approaches the Land of Shadows, home of an acclaimed queen and her band of female fighters. As the challenges unfold, the fledgling champion embarks on a voyage of discovery, captivating him in a supernatural and provocative world of formidable women whose lessons will impact on everything he knows and everyone he loves. The scale of the production reflects the strength of these forces, through exploring the relationship between the physical skills of dance, aerial work, acrobatics and martial arts – and a dynamic original sound track, which fuses flamenco, classical and Arabic disciplines combined with traditional and contemporary music. Local dance, circus and martial arts groups will be invited to work with a world class creative team, directed by renowned aerialist/director Deborah Pope.
