UKIMO Project

Category: Artist

UKIMO Project creates contemporary circus performances through an ongoing dialogue with nature. Wind, light, ground, and humidity are not simply backgrounds, but active elements that shape every performance.

Rather than attempting to control these changing conditions, we receive them through the body and respond to the environment in real time. Each performance becomes unique to its place and moment.

Our physical language is deeply influenced by Japanese body culture, particularly Aikido and Karate, where breath, presence, balance, and sensitivity to others are fundamental. This philosophy informs our creative practice, allowing us to build performances that exist in close relationship with the surrounding landscape, architecture, and people.

Our Videos

Two people walk along a sandy beach; one carries a large white flag, and the other holds a large metal ring. The calm sea and distant mountains are visible under a partly cloudy sky.
