Whispered Tales works with festivals, theatres and heritage sites to deliver projects that shine a light on forgotten sites and people. From large scale installations, audio trails, and bespoke performances Whispered Tales generates truly emotive audience responses.
At the heart of Whispered Tales are Esther Simpson and Steve Gibbs, a creative duo each with 20 years experience in the Arts & Heritage sector. Esther is an experienced theatre director, dramaturge and writer who has a passion for creating outdoor work with a thought provoking narrative. Steve is a truly talented musician who creates immersive original soundtracks for each tale shared.
Whispered Tales successfully gained funding from Arts Council England and Heritage Lottery fund to create and tour Distant Drums. In 2021 the installation and live performance toured to: Bristol, Hounslow, Glasgow, Ipswich, Leicester, Salford, Doncaster, Liverpool, Bradford, Ilford, Watford and Stoke on Trent
