We are delighted to announce that this spring Wired Aerial Theatre is heading down under as they take their renowned show As The World Tipped to WOMADelaide in Adelaide.
WOMADelaide is a four-day festival of Music, Arts, and Dance celebrating cultural and creative diversity held since 1992 in Adelaide’s beautiful Botanic Park. The festival has become a truly unique part of the Australian festival landscape, showcasing the best, the essential – and the surprising – in global music, dance, art, and ideas. As The World Tipped will be presented nightly in Frome Park, within a rich eco-conscious programme that is supported by Australia’s largest environmental organisation, Greening Australia and brings together some 500 artists from over 30 countries perform across a 34-hectare venue space.
Produced by XTRAX, As The World Tipped, written and directed by Nigel Jamieson, one of the world’s leading creators of outdoor spectacle (Sydney Olympics, Liverpool Capital of Culture), is regarded as one of the finest large-scale outdoor shows to have been made in the UK. It has been performed over 50 times to audiences across the UK and festivals in France, Germany, Australia, Chile, South Korea, Italy and more. Exceptionally ambitious and beautifully crafted, the work features aerial performance where dance and theatrics entwine with extraordinary projections that illustrate the very real and immediate realities of climate change.
