XTRAX to spotlight UK outdoor arts at Europe’s largest outdoor arts festival

XTRAX continues its longstanding relationship with Fira Tàrrega, one of Europe’s leading performing arts festivals and the biggest marketplace for the outdoor arts sector in Europe.

Maggie and Irene will be at Tàrrega from Thursday 5 – Sunday 8 September and will have a stand (number 20) in the Llotja, the festival’s main meeting point for professionals. Here, they will be sharing information about the latest goings-on in the UK including news from Without Walls. They will also be on hand to provide an overview of the festival landscape in the UK and details of projects in development and much much more.

Building on this deep-rooted relationship, XTRAX will be involved in several meetings and networking event where professionals can meet the key players in the sector. If you would like to set up a meeting with Maggie or Irene then please email them directly.

Opportunities to find out about UK outdoor arts:

Friday, September 6, 11:40 – 12:10 – Meeting between Without Walls and the Catalan platform for street arts, PAC

Meeting point: Catalan Arts stand in the trade fair (Llotja)

As a commissioning and touring model, Without Walls has sparked interest in this international event, and an informal meeting has been organised to facilitate introductions and exchange between Without Walls and PAC (Catalan Platform for Street Arts) members.

The meeting will offer an opportunity to meet, discuss, ask questions and open the door to potential future collaborations.

Key information will be circulated in English and Catalan, and there will be a short introduction on the Without Walls model as well as the PAC model, followed by networking time and nibbles.

This meeting has been organised by Fira Tàrrega, ICEC (the Catalan Institut for Cultural Enterprises), PAC and XTRAX.

Friday, September 6th, 12:15 – 12:45 – UK cocktails

Meeting point: Jardi Pro

XTRAX and Outdoor Arts UK are inviting all delegates to a pre-lunch cocktail.

The aim of this is to help international professionals to meet the UK delegates and hear more about ongoing initiatives and opportunities for artists and producers, as well as some of the distinctively British work on offer.

Other events that Maggie and Irene will be taking part in at Llotja:

  • Speed meetings with Spanish and Catalan companies from the four main professional organisations.
  • Pitching sessions from selected companies from Catalonia, Spain, UK and Ireland, that are looking for international circuit and co-productions (Friday 6 at 10.30, Sunday 8 at 10.30 and Sunday 8 at 11.45)

Two UK companies will also pitch their new projects on Sunday 8th September: Mimbre with Lifted and Full Tilt Aerial with Substratum (pictured above).
