Latin America is the land of carnivals; Colombia?s Carnival of Black and Whites was recognised by UNESCO in 2009 as a “Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity”.

artLAT?s Artistic Director is presenting in the UK for the first time this magnificent carnival tradition, world famous for its hand crafted colourful large floats that truly reflect the greatness of the art of the people.

Our performance formats include diverse formats:
-Theatrical indoor stagings
-Site specific
-Parades on land or river
-In situ ritual on riversides, lakes, parks, market squares, unconventional dance spaces
or streets.

AS toured The UK supported by the ACE and in partnership with 3 key regional partners:

-Brouhaha International Street Festival en Liverpool.
-UK Centre for Carnival ArtsUKCCA–Luton-
-SeaChange Arts, Arts development and promotion agency for the borough of Great Yarmouth.

For 10 years artLAT has been committed to create projects that reflect an Intercultural exchange between Latin America and The UK. Our organisation with the support of Arts Council of England has produced national touring works in the UK and abroad with sold out tours from our two previous works Romance D?Carnaval and Tiempo de Tango.

artLAT is inviting international producers, UK festivals, venues and cultural organisations to be part of this unprecedented project, we are keen to establish new partnerships to develop work in other areas in the UK and abroad. The company is open for bookings for live performances, outreach residencies and apprenticeships.
